Sacred Heart Hospital
Anticipated Completion January 2009
Sacred Heart Health System broke ground in June 2007 on a 25 bed community hospital and medical office building in Port St Joe. The hospital will serve Gulf and Franklin Counties.
Completion of the development and construction will take more than a year, with anticipated opening in January 2009. Sacred Heart estimates the cost of design, building and equipment of hospital to be approximately $30 million.
A Community hospital with 25 private rooms, emergency department and two operating rooms.
Urgent care clinic to treat minor injuries and illnesses.
Laboratory services
Diagnostic imaging services (CT scans, x-ray, ultrasound, mammography)
Medical Office Building to provide offices for 10 physicians
Helipad to be used by Sacred Heart's AirHeart helicopter, for transport of trauma patients
The hospital and medical office building will provide an economic boost for the area by providing approximately 150 jobs.
Sacred Heart Health Systems also operates the Walton County hospital which opened in 2003. The hospital in Walton County also was supported by a land donation from The St Joe Company.
